#CookForSYRIA is a global fundraising initiative curated by Clerkenwell Boy and SUITCASE Magazine in partnership with Unicef NEXTGeneration London. #CookForSYRIA first started as a simple supper club, where a group of foodie friends came together to celebrate Syrian cuisine and raise money to help Unicef protect Syrian children. Now it’s a global movement, and everybody is invited to the table. From cookbooks to supper clubs, #CookForSYRIA is raising vital funds for Unicef with support from the world’s top chefs, restaurants and volunteers. 

£15 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Unicef #CookForSyria initiative

The format:

Your guide on this culinary adventure will be Executive Chef, David Jones. 

We'll kick start the session in The Cookhouse with welcome mint tea and some baklava and then we'll roll up our sleeves and get cooking. You will produce an array of seasonal meze dishes featuring some of Arabica's larder essentials  like Tahini, Sumac, Roasted Cumin and Za'atar.

The session concludes with an informal meal, enjoying the food you’ve cooked, served with wine. 

Example Recipes: 

Spicy Syrian-style  Hummus  - An unctuous puree of chickpeas, stoneground tahini, garlic, lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil.

Babganoush - Smokey chargrilled aubergine with tahini, garlic, lemon juice and pomegranate seeds

Cheese Borek -  Crisp, filo pastries filled with akawi cheese, nigella seeds, parsley

Sayadieh  - Cumin dusted pan-fried hake, fragrant black onion rice, tahini sauce

Fattoush salad -  Cos lettuce, fragrant baby Lebenese cucumber, radish, spring onion, parsley, mint, Za'atar , croutons,  pomegranate dressing



Whats included and do I need to bring anything?

We will provide you with an apron and cooking equipment, recipe printouts and all ingredients for the class. Ladies - please where a comfortable pair of low-heeled shoes. 

What is the cancellation policy?

Unfortunately classes are non-refundable due to the agreement with the venue. In the unlikely event, we receive insufficient bookings for a class, the class may be cancelled with 7 days’ notice and the option of a full refund or credit for a future class will be offered. 

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive at 2.15pm sharp
